The conversation centered on a critical and ongoing issue: the importance of Black representation in digital media, emphasizing how Black Stock Footage is addressing this challenge.

Nielsen’s Report on Black Representation - February 2024

In a separate study completed in February 2024, Nielsen provided an in-depth analysis of media consumption and representation among Black audiences. The findings are telling: despite Black adults in the U.S. spending nearly 12 hours daily on various media—significantly more than the general population—there remains a substantial gap in how these groups feel represented. The study detailed that Black audiences consume more media, particularly TV, yet overwhelmingly feel that their representation is inadequate, with significant misrepresentation reported across different Black identity groups.
